- Peter Ong was introduced to photography during his course of study at Nanyang Academy
of Fine Arts and Raffles Design, from which he holds a Masters Degree in Graphic Design.
Peter has garnered over 250 awards in both local and international photography competitions,
some of which include NDP Snap Our City 2007 (1st prize), STB Singapore In Pixels 2009
(1st prize), Singapore Grand Prix 2009 (1st Prize), as well as a 3rd prize for the highly regarded
Asian Geographic Yesterday Once More Competition. He was also one of the award recipients
of the prestigious President’s Challenge 2008. His winning works are featured in numerous
publications such as The Straits Times, Lianhe Zaobao, National Geographic and Asian
Geographic. He made a television appearance on MediaCorp’s Okto Channel in November
2011, giving insights on his winning photo for Faces of Clementi 2011.
Peter’s works have often received special praises from his clients. He was described as
“a true genius behind the lens” by famous magician Magic Babe Ning, who was very impressed
by Peter’s ability to capture defining moments in her highly anticipated magic show ‘The
Impalement Cage.’
Peter feels that perfecting the art of seeing is of utmost importance, and being able to capture
precious moments give him a sense of satisfaction.
